From the first words of the prologue to the inclusion of the wife of Bathe, I was transported back to the early 70"s when I took a Chaucer class with the dreaded chairman of the English department. My paper for the class was entitled "Antifeminism in the Wife of Bathe". Dr. Fiester told me he would start we with a C if I came up with 10 references so I brought him 23.
